Welcome to Pacific Narrow Gauge.Com, the developing home of the history of West Coast Narrow Gauge Railroading. We are working to create the central location for accurate data, history, imagery, and all things relevant to Narrow Gauge Railroading West of the Rockies, from it's inception to it's end.

We are proud to have as contributors a group of individuals, historians, curators, authors, and artists who have developed over time a vast library and access to information. A primary desire is to generate accurate information, to correct inaccuracies that have been treated as fact, and make available in one place a unified data source.

This site is developing constantly so expect additions and changes on a frequent basis.

We are looking for additional contributors with unparalleled expertise on specific roads.

Site Updates/Changes.

Whew! What a wild ride it has been these past few months. We would like to take a moment to thank you all for your patience, as we continue to grow we're hammering out imperfections. If you have spotted a broken link, please let our webmaster know.

While the update notification on the page has not been changed since December, we've been hard at work adding data to the site. The highlight of this round of updates is David Fletcher's wonderful article: The Baldwin Styles - The Colour & Architecture of US Locomotives.
If you've been curious how Baldwin painted their locomotives, this is the article for you. David gives background on the locomotive design trends of the 19th century and explains the mystery behind the Baldwin style system.
