Re: Waynesburg & Washington

Hey Jeff, I own Three Feet on the Panhandle and was a personal friend of the recently deceased co-author Morgan Gayvert, of Washington, PA. I am a fan of the OR&W, the W&W's sister road, but I have some knowledge of the W&W. None of the boxcars on the W&W were numbered that high. Even after the narr...

Re: Modeling the SP narrow gauge-a roundup

Slim Princess in the 60s did a model of SP water car #59 and a Coke car, both HOn3. Datin Models did at least one HOn3 stock car. (160 I believe). There was also a SP boxcar done in HOn3 in the early 60s, cannot remember the maker but I used to have an unbuilt one. It was a very early HOn3 kit. Had ...

Re: A plug for Karen's books.

Yes, I am also quite pleased with my order. Bought one for myself and another for my father, and they both arrived in less than a week. I highly recommend her shop.

Re: Commuter service to Owenyo?

Thanks guys. I have the Morris book here, so I knew about the end of the actual passenger service, but I thought they might send a baggage car and a sleeper every once in awhile for employees. Ok second part related to the same question. What about supplies? I note in the Morris book, they kept a re...

Commuter service to Owenyo?

Not exactly narrow gauge, but related - I was wondering if any of our resident SPNG experts could tell me if commuter service was ever run to Owenyo on the standard gauge. I know the regular passenger trains were ended in the 30s, but I thought they would run something for the employees that worked ...

Re: SP #12 question

Mr. Coker and Mr. Norden,

In the SPNG video put out by Sunday River, I believe the final segment on the video from either 1958 or 1959 (9 has the red numberplate, no stack ring, and the visor-less headlight) shows #9 using #12 alone as her caboose.

Apache Powder Co.

Has there ever been a book, or perhaps a magazine article on the Apache Powder Co out of Arizona? I learned a few tid bits some years ago talking to Randy Babcock, whos family owns several Apache pieces of equipment, but not enough for a write up on the road.
