Re: Colusa & Lake RR

Andrew, I did check the location against Google maps, but I didn't think to check street-view. It's such a remote location I didn't think they would have had it out there. those boxcars look like they've been converted to sheds. I agree with your eyes, if those are boxcar bodies they're either truck...

Morenci Southern / United States Potash #3

I'm going to be in Pomona this weekend doing some research with a friend on the big SP 4-10-2 #5021, which is right behind Morenci Southern / United States Potash #3.

Anyone need/want any specific photos or measurements of the #3 while I'm there?

Cheers,

Curtis F.

Re: Colusa & Lake RR

I need a second, third, fourth, etc. opinion. Found a photo of the town of Sites on the USGS photo website that appears to show the C&L ROW coming into town from the right-center of the photo, and two box cars sitting on the main leg of a tight wye at the left-center. http://libraryphoto.cr.usgs.gov...

Michael,

That was in the thread about the D&RG 4-4-0s : viewtopic.php?f=13&t=15&start=10

It's just a CAD image of the 2.5" scale model I was working on.

Yep, the first axle is bent to miss the middle Main Rod.

Photograph Measuring Cards

Today I was took some pictures of a SP C-30-1 (standard gauge) caboose, and for some of the photos I made up a 1" x 6" card to be used as a measuring stick. This way if I missed any dimensions I could possibly measure the photo instead of having to go back into the museum. Visalia C-30-1_056.jpg Thi...

NNG - But it is Pacific Coast & Digital

It's Not-Narrow-Gauge, but it is Pacific Coast, steam and CAD modeling.

A video showing a valve gear test I put together for a 1.6" scale live steam engine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTXYTvj0PBc

Re: SPNG on the Rail Channel

That's a neat video. Only a couple of obvious mistakes, like saying the track is "three foot six inch gauge", but the audio dubbing is top notch.

Thanks for posting the link. :)

Re: Drawings

Any recommendations for the best Carson & Colorado 4-4-0 drawings? Michael, There is a drawing of NCNG #7 (former C&C #4) in the March-April 1997 Narrow Gauge & Shortline Gazette, page 54, by Ed Gebhart that is the best I've seen yet. The over all size is correct, but what frame details can be seen...

Re: dimentional information about the C&C 4-4-0s

Curtis F. I believe was planning to build a model of one in live steam one day (I think), I am surprised he hasn't chimed in. I've been lax in checking this board. Though I will say that I've never seen a good drawing of the C&C 4-4-0s. When I first started working on a design for a live ste...
