Re: Bachmann 4-4-0 for the Carson and Colorado

John,

Should I assume that those dimensions are for the shank/hole size of the rivet and not the head?

Anyone know the dates for the 2013 SPNG historical society convention in Tonopah? Brian?

Re: 3D File Formats

I can also export in .STL so I could join the party with that format. the others I cannot. The 3d pdf would be useful for folks that do not have a cad program to be able to view the part.

Re: Bachmann 4-4-0 for the Carson and Colorado

Randy, Thank you so much for posting that sheet!

The Dimension of 'C' I am wondering if it is for the inside stack or the outside shell? Attached are the drawings I have been using.

Re: 3D File Formats

Hi everyone, Did we ever settle on file formats we can upload? Alibre allows me to convert 2d drawing files to pdf. Alibre also allows a 3d pdf to be created that can be rotated and zoomed. I tried loading both types but the file types appear to be blocked. The 3d view has a number of options for th...

Re: Bliss Pattern Truck

Hi Randy, None other than our own Andrew Brandon was the first to tell me about them being perhaps called a "Bliss" truck in response to some questions I had on the Candelaria trestle scene with the ore cars. I think it is on the second page of the ore cars topic here on PacificNG. The other place I...

Bliss Pattern Truck

I have been attempting a couple of projects over the Christmas vacation this year. I have to go on a TDY for a week but I plan to pick this up when I get back. I used the photographs of the "California" style Central Pacific cars and the drawings of the Carter Brothers standard gauge truck that is s...

Re: Bachmann 4-4-0 for the Carson and Colorado

Thanks, that is a great photo to work with. I definitely need to add more sheet metal sections and rivets!

Any one know offhand what size rivets are being used here? The head size in particular?

Re: Bachmann 4-4-0 for the Carson and Colorado

Merry Christmas everyone, I will still be taking Brian's advise and ordering from the CSRM but in the mean time I found that the "Modern Locomotive Construction" book by J.G.A. Meyer has a basic drawing on page 498 and also, the 1906 Locomotive Dictionary has another line drawing. Using those I drew...

Re: Bachmann 4-4-0 for the Carson and Colorado

The Baldwin spec sheet lists a bonnet stack of 14 inch diameter which I expect is the diameter of the cylindrical portion and not the bonnet. I have not been able to find a online source for radley and hunter spark arrestors for a catalog or other drawings of a bonnet style (sunflower?) stack. Is th...
