Re: Carter Bros/Oahu Railway Passenger Car Trucks

The test prints are On3. They'll also be available in HOn3 and if there is demand, Sn3.

Re: Carter Bros/Oahu Railway Passenger Car Trucks

The test prints of each version have arrived. I need to make a few revisions to the design and add a couple simple braces which are missing, but they are free rolling and sitting next to my model of coach #3. Bye-bye D&RGW standard trucks :D

I'll post photos soon.

Re: Waynesburg & Washington

Five word NG roads that I can think of: Eastern Tennessee & Western North Carolina - I believe their 34' boxcars were all lettered with just the initials. But two of their 4-6-0s ended up on the White Pass during the war. They had the only purpose built 0-8-0 switch engine on a US NG and the most mo...

Re: Historic Map Works

Thanks for the link! You have also refreshed my memory as to the USGS historic Topos. http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/topomaps/f?p=262:1:448957918105216 The 1950s maps have the Oahu Railway intact from Honolulu until somewhere around NAD. I need to download some GIS layers for Hawaii so I can use ArcSc...

Carter Bros/Oahu Railway Passenger Car Trucks

I'm ready for any and all constructive criticism of my passenger truck drawing. For now, here is the Carter version for under my models of the original Oahu Railway coaches, as well as, someday, the Pearl. Principal design concessions: -Strap iron parts have been increased from 1/4" to 1/2" or even ...

It looks nice. Almost a shame to hide them under a tender ;)

Re: Oahu Railway trucks! 3D printed

Managed to finally have a normal afternoon...which has allowed me to get some of the last remaining details created. On the left side, we have the Carter version of the brake beam guides (?). On the right, is the Oahu Railway's version. I decided to use 3/4" material instead of 1/4" for better durab...

Re: Who Made It?

Because of the way the side framing is attached, I think we're looking at flat car conversions. Sophisticated conversions, but still conversions.

Re: Oahu Railway trucks! 3D printed

Progress has slowed. My project at work is in crunch time and I'm working longer hours. Throw in a brother moving, a sick grandmother, and the 765 season being here, and I'm really wishing I'd finished these in April. I'm hoping that my test prints are on order before 765's big Memorial Day ex...
