Re: Oahu Railway trucks! 3D printed

Continuing to tweak the design. I altered the angle of the brake shoes. Since this screenshot, I've adjusted the pedestals downwards. Getting close to a test print.

Oahu Railway trucks! 3D printed

First, I apologies for having not updated any of my threads for a long time. Thank you Andrew for pointing out that I should post something about my Oahu Railway trucks. They are based on the 30t Oahu Railway shop-built truck. I selected it over the 30t Gregg truck as the shop-built trucks were used...

Re: A Little Something We've Been Working On

Those sure would look great on a Cincinnati Northern #1, Warren County (Miami Valley RR #1 in the Baldwin Spec book)...

Very nice workmanship both on the 8-18Cs and the decals.

Re: Removing counterweights from B-man On30 2-8-0 (Oahu Rail

I'll probably do so...just so I know that it is there...but I doubt it would be very noticeable if I forgot too! Your 1:20.3 conversions are masterpieces. I intend to take a similar approach on the 2-8-0s, with master details duplicated in resin. I may attempt to modify some of the frames as you did...

Removing counterweights from B-man On30 2-8-0 (Oahu Railway)

The first step in preparing my Bachmann On30 2-8-0 for service was to convert it to On3. That took all of ten minutes. Today, I decided to take the next step: removing the counterweights from the cranks. Out of the box, they look like this: http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn218/myork2005/IMG_7940...

Re: Mainline steam in the east

I have exactly zero interest in riding behind or taking pictures of diesels and 1950's-style consists. As far as I'm concerned, every last diesel locomotive could be scrapped and nothing of value would be lost. For those who have a broader area of interest, the diesels are mostly Alco locomotives (...

Mainline steam in the east

For those of us in the east, our only active 4-wheel trailing truck has three events this fall: The 765 will be having its open house Aug 20-22. Admission is free and they will be open 10am-4pm at their New Haven shop. 765 will be hot, but it is the diesel that will be offering caboose rides. At lea...
