SPng #353-broadside

This car was for carrying company oil to Laws. Photos in Mal Ferrell's book indicate that it was retired because of a farctured end beam. It was retired in the early 1950s. You can see that I cut the Gramps car in two places,on both sides of the center courses. I carefully sanded the pieces while watching TV. The shortened dome was cast, but as it turned out PBL was willing to sell the domes separately. BTW, PBL has more and more SPng parts available, like a connection from the brake pipe to the triple valve. The model has a combination of PBL, Grandt Line and Tomalco parts in it. It cleaned out my parts collection of a few unwanted parts.

John,

That looks great! I can't how it turns out. I have a few SP projects in the works, I have been scratch building a model of boxcar 17 in hon3 for quite some time. I am hoping to have this done soon. Once I am finished I am building #350 in hon3, I expect it will be an interesting experience.
