San Juan Car update

San Juan Car update

Postby John Coker » Fri Apr 27, 2012 10:22 am

I talked to one of the new owners of San Juan Car today. He is a retired executive from a very well-known model company; his partner is a physician or college professor(already forgot). I have known the executive for some time-he is well known to other West Coast modelers. Basically they are setting up to do castings again and prepare models, both ready-made and kits for packaging. On account of John Parker's sickness, little was done in the shop last year. Some of what they are doing is trying to figure out what is what, and how to properly operate some of the big casting machines. I am being deliberately vague on account that I do not know what they want out there for public knowledge yet. I will know more when I go over there Monday.

OK, I can tell you; John Engstrom, a former executive at Athearn bought and is now running San Juan Car.
