Hetch Hechy and the Rim fire

Discussion of early railroads and "honorary" narrow gauges.

Hetch Hechy and the Rim fire

I drove Hwy 120 into and out of Yosemite over the long weekend. The extent of the Rim fire and the level of burn cannot be over estimated...

There is an upside... I was seeing remains of Hetch Hetchy and maybe some logging railroad lines that were previously not visible... Currently the area is offically closed, but we should consider a trip to document remains while they are still visible.

This could be a fun trip. Need GPS, assuming a local motel and beer money. Rain gear might help. What kind of mileage of ROW are we dealing with?
