Best.Railroad.Fiction....Ever.

I was lent this book by my friend Dana, a UP engineer. It is the only r.r. fiction that is 100% authentic, making me feel I was railroading again, with the characters reminding me of old friends and co-workers. It all takes place on December 24, 1940, on the Southern Ry's subdivision between New Orleans and Meridian, Mississippi. As much as loved it ,it also reminded me of the brutality and nightmarish scenarios of mainline railroading. Howard Bahr, the author, worked in train service on several mainline road in the Mississippi Valley.

Yes! the book available on Amazon as a hardcover ($18.75) Paperback ($12.95) and on Kindle.
