Washington Township Railroad Fair

A Plug!

The folks at Ardenwood http://www.spcrr.org are hosting this years Rail Fair this coming Labor Day Weekend.
This is the Group's annual 3 day open house in Fremont, California.

'Deanna' is back again this year, she's a wonderfully restored Baldwin 0-6-2 tank loco.
A freshly running little 0-4-0 Porter tank engine called 'Anne-Marie' originally from Cortez Mines Ltd will also be running.
There will be plenty of opportunities to check out these locos very closely. The Bay Area's BAGRS will be back running electric and scale steam as will an On30 modular group.

Food, noise, grime, smoke. It's a fun weekend!
Now if there's enough volunteers on hand there will be opportunities to really explore the rolling stock and maybe get yourself involved in rebuilding.

A new addition this year is the NWP 5591 Caboose (formerly NPC and NS up in Marin and Sonoma Counties (California).

Hope to see you there.

Ann Marie, a 0-4-0t 1891 Porter arrived today... she was fired up about 2:00, and was running by 4:00. The locomotive has not run since the late 1920's...

We also fired up our 1922 Plymouth gas mechanical "DL-2" for a while for switching.

Tomorrow, late, Deanna, a 1891 Baldwin 0-4-2t arrives.

Railfair is on.

Update:

Anne-Marie was delivered to Ardenwood Wednesday, unloaded and given a test steam. Keep in mind this Porter is freshly restored and has only been test run on a short length of rail. She apparently is running wonderfully!

Deanna has also been offloaded, hopefully additional images will follow today.

The Rail Fair Flyer PDF is on the right side of most of the PacificNG.com pages for details.

If you're near the the Bay Area, come on down to Ardenwood. Flyer is on most pages of this web site or go to www.spcrr.org.
