Railfair, Labor day Weekend, Ardenwood

Postby Randy Hees » Thu Jun 26, 2014 11:41 pm

The SPCRR will be holding its annual Railroad Fair over Labor Day weekend in Ardenwood Historic Farm in Fremont CA… Most if not all of the PacificNG staff will be there… we are planning a “bored” meeting, likely on Friday.

Railfair this year will have 2 visiting locomotives, both 19th century Porter 0-4-0t’s… we will have the regular collection of model railroad layouts and other activities… I will be working on our NPC/NWP caboose… we have recently garnered several significant grants, which along with donations from several members are fast tracking work.

Details will be posted here or check out the SPCRR web site at www.spcrr.org

Randy,

On another note have they replaced the horse that they lost earlier this year?

We purchased a 7 year old mare, Bella. She leaves Washington today, to arrive on July 3rd. Our operations manager and horse trainer made a trip to Washington a month ago, to try her out... she is trained to work as a single or a pair... and comes with her own harness already fitted.

I believe the cost of purchase and transport was paid entirely with donations by members.
