Wanted, "Critter" Expert

Besides losing sleep over the OR&L, we are also engaged with researching the Military Railroads in Hawaii, and specifically Oahu. We are fortunate in that we have local members of the Coast Artillery Study Group who share any railroad related information with us that they find during their research. Yesterday we received a series of photographs of the construction of Fort Barrette. Two of the photos show a 3 foot gauge (of course) Milwaukee locomotive at work. Our U.S. Army locomotive roster is admittedly weak but we do show one Model H 12C, 12 ton Milwaukee four wheel gas mechanical locomotive, construction No. 873, built in 1934. The Army number, if any, is unknown. Based solely on the color differences it appears that there may have been two vice one Milwaukee's. The 1934 build date of the locomotive is in line with the construction dates of Fort Barrette. The photos are from the National Archives, San Bruno, CA. Final Report, Battery Hatch at Fort Barrette, Kapolei, Oahu. U.S. District Engineer, Honolulu, T.H. Record Group 77, MILITARY CONSTRUCTION FINAL REPORTS, 1934-1938. Box 24A Location: 2159E (entry 94, 1975 PI). The photos have been cropped and enhanced from the originals. Anybody have an idea about what model Milwaukee these are?
