Re: Air brake system on C&C/SPng/NCNG #7 engine

Hi, I might be able to help you out. But, I am away from my reference books because I'm traveling. When I return next week I have only a short time before I'm gone for an extended weekend. I will try to remember to research this and post a response. The diagram is for a 6-ET schedule and this may be...

Pacific Coast Ry & Columbia & Puget Sound RR photo album

I was looking for something else on the internet and came across this link to the description of a photo album in the collection of Museum of History & Industry, Sophie Frye Bass Library in Seattle Washington. http://nwda.orbiscascade.org/ark:/80444/xv71147 It is an album of the Pacific Coast Compan...

Re: Mohave & Milltown unknown locomotive

Hard to tell.
I saved the image and then opened it with a photo editor I zoomed in on the locomotive there was no detail to compare.

What is the source of the image? Is it suppose to be on the M&M or someplace else?

Re: Eureka & Palisade B&S cars

The passenger cars went to the Nevada State RR Museum. The equipment that was up on the hill (the Shay, the E&P B&S box, the NC Carter box car, and the box-like car with the passenger-style needle beams) that had advertising for the casino went a couple of different ways. The SPCRR group from Ardenw...

Re: E&P, EN, Ruby Hill locomotive roster

(How do I edit a submitted post that I wrote?)

One more item:
E&P #9 ex-C&C #1. The name was "Candelaria." (one "l" in the name)

Re: E&P, EN, Ruby Hill locomotive roster

Looking at the BLW spec sheet, I doubt that the #3 was named "Hereafter." This word appears to be in pencil and not in ink like all the rest of the sheet. Maybe the meaning of the notation is that the name would be provided some time in the future (ie. hereafter).

Re: E&P, EN, Ruby Hill locomotive roster

E&P #2 renamed "Tybo" very early because Mr. Prichard was soon out of the picture. Maybe even by the time the locomotive was delivered. I found an on-line reference to "Dobie Doc" http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/thomas-hull about half way down the page. Griffith died less than a year after the hot...

Re: One more Eureka Nevada locomotive question

I suspect a near term visit to UNR will help and confuse... The Nevada Historical Society, located up the hill, also has some E&P information. I seem to recall a journal book with paid invoices from the late 1890s pasted into it -- there were some related to paint and painting and San Francisco sup...

Re: One more Eureka Nevada locomotive question

Randy, At one time DLG and I said that the NT/E-N locomotive roster would dive you to drink, if you were not already drunk enough to consider trying to figure it out. Years ago I went through the accounting record books from the E&P ? NT Co / E-N at the UN-R Library Special Collections. There were s...
