Sams Coupler and Pin - Hawthorne to Ardenwood

Post by ComstockFriend » Mon Jul 02, 2012 8:33 pm

(SPNGHS) held its 2012 Conference at the SPCRR's location in Ardenwood Park (Newark, California). One of the 2011 participants at Hawthorne, Nevada, was given a find by a fellow who had missed the event. He wondered if it was railroad related and if we knew what it was. Randy Hees tried the pin like object in one of the SPCRR's Sams patent couplers. Fit like Cinderella's foot into the glass slipper. It is rumored that another Sams pin or two may exist in Colorado. No one has posted that they have seen another yet.

A short video was made demonstrating the pin test. Unfortunately the video is turned on it's side, but otherwise watchable.
